Who contributes to the YMCA?

Individuals, families, businesses, foundations, churches and civic groups all support the work of the YMCA. Every person counts.

Why should I give to the YMCA when I am not a member?

Your support is still needed. A strong YMCA in our community provides meaningful opportunities, positive experiences and caring adult role models that help youth grow into responsible adults benefiting every community member, regardless of YMCA involvement.

Do YMCA membership fees help?

Membership fees and donations are two different sources of income, both tied to our charitable mission. Income from program fees, membership dues and other sources cover the YMCA’s operating costs, program delivery and membership services. It does not cover the cost of community programs for teens or scholarships for economically disadvantaged youth and families. Annual Scholarship funds go directly to support programs and scholarships that benefit teens, youth and families.

What are some of the things that make YMCA programs unique?

The YMCA offers high-quality, convenient programs that meet the needs of children and parents. YMCA staff members are highly qualified and take a careful approach toward each member or program participant, all the while incorporating the core values of the YMCA: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Youth participants in YMCA programs develop new skills, increase self-esteem and make new friends while having fun in safe, high-quality programs.
